PSP-3000 reference discovered on PlayStation website

Written by Tech84 on July 27, 2008

The Sony Playstation Portable is only three years old, and the the PSP Slim version is yet to become one year old this coming september, But now, the Sony PSP is at the center of a new rumor about a third version of the PSP. On its online instruction manual site, Sony uses images as labels for the PSP-1000 series (click here), and another for the PSP-2000 series (click here). However, curiously there’s also a placeholder image for the logical next-step: the PSP-3000 series (click here). Note: the image has now been removed by Sony.

Sony announced that the PSP has a ten year cycle, but does that include new PSP versions within this ten year period? Who knows. But ofcourse, this image might just be nothing more than a mistake from someone from Sony. But anyway, a PSP-3000 would always be welcome to us gamers.
