Update: GEN-A still? 5.03 GEN-C is out check it out here.
First, the requirements:
- A PSP-3000 or PSP-2000.
- You have ChickHEN installed and running
- Download: 5.03 GEN-A
- Back up your save files (optional, but c’mon you know you should backup save files often)
Step 1. Connect your PSP to the computer via USB Mode.
Step 2. Extract the 5.03 GEN-A file you’ve downloaded on your computer ( put it somewhere you can find it easily)
Step 3. Run the LAUNCH-ME.exe
Step 4. You will be prompted to choose your PSP Model:
- PSP 2000 = Slim and Lite
- PSP 3000 = Brite
Step 5. Under Mode choose ‘FULL’
Step 6. Under PSP Install choose ‘YES’
Step 7. PSP Drive Unit: Type the letter of your PSP’s Drive. Do not include the “:” just the letter (example, the PSP is recognized as drive ‘G:’ so you’ll only need to put the letter ‘G’)
Step 8. Press START , and the files will be patched and copied to the Memory Stick.
Step 9. Disconnect the PSP from USB.
Step 10. Launch the homebrew file ‘INSTALLER-LOADER’ under ‘GAME -> Memory Stick’.
Step 11. When the app loads, press L or R to flash the firmware in your flash. You will see this screen again but only to load the 5.03 custom firmware
Step 12. After the flash done, press O [it's the circle button] to reboot in the custom firmware
Step 13. After your PSP reboots, the installation process is finished. You now have Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-A(full).
And now your done, go play some games, or you might wanna update your GEN-A to GEN-C.
