Sony is set to release an update to the PS3™ system software with the 4.31 official firmware. Whether it is a direct response to the release of the Rogero 4.30 cfw is still a hunch. Because the 4.31 update has been looming since games like the Monster Hunter HD has been reporting problems with the 4.30 firmware update released last October 24, 2012. However, good news for 4.30 cfw users is that the update is not mandatory and you will still be able to access PSN with 4.30 cfw. Meaning, you wont need to wait for Rogero to release an updated 4.31 cfw to access PSN.

This firmware update won’t “affect online play and access to apps” and does not signal PSN maintenance. Additionally, it’s not a mandatory update, though it’s designed to “improve overall system stability” and is thus recommended by Sony.

When it gets released, you can download the 4.31 update from Sony here.

The new iMac is ridiculously thin, still ridiculously expensive

As I read the live blogs from Gizmodo yesterday, eagerly waiting for what Apple is gonna shove down consumers throats this time. I was very impressed as to how thin the new iMac’s are, at first it seemed like a CG rendering of a futuristic super thin computer of some sort which is pretty ridiculous. The new models are just around 5mm thick which is 80% thinner than the previous iMacs. The new models are available in the usual 21.5-inch and 27-inch versions, while the 27-inch version has a 2560 x 1440 resolution, but no retina display here, so sorry folks. And after checking out the specs it seems pretty impressive too, the iMac’s are available with quad-core i5 or i7 processors with up to 32GB of RAM (wow!), and you can have as much as 768GB of flash storage. And when you come to think of it, it’s even more impressive when you think about how they were able to cram all of this into the new super thin iMacs.

The two versions each has four USB 3.0 ports, two Thunderbolts, an SD card, a gigabit ethernet, a new “fusion drive” with 128GB of flash storage plus 1 or 3 TB of hard drive combined into one hard drive. The 21.5-inch model starts at $1300 and ships in November, and the 27-inch version starts at $1800 and ships in December.

The specs are really impressive, but when you think about the cost of these machines, you really have to be into iMacs to be shoving around almost 2k dollars worth to a machine that is going to be replaced again next year. And when you can buy a PC a helluva lot more powerful than these if you spend the same amount of money for a PC. But anyway, that’s just me, I like Apple products I absolutely love my iPhone, (iPods and iPads) but being a PC power user, Macs are a different story.

Time Travel in Grand theft Auto IV Back to the Future style

Yep, you read that right. Time travel in GTA IV is possible, by using a mod of course. And if you are a Back to the Future fan like me, you will also love this mod. However, obviously mods are only available for the PC version of Grand theft Auto IV. (Which is too bad […]

Yep, you read that right. Time travel in GTA IV is possible, by using a mod of course. And if you are a Back to the Future fan like me, you will also love this mod. However, obviously mods are only available for the PC version of Grand theft Auto IV. (Which is too bad since I have this game on my PS3 and not for my PC) but still, this is such an awesome mod that if you know mods, you should definitely try this out! The mod includes a Marty McFly skin and the DeLorean, the DeLorean really does actually time travels in the game when it hits 88 mph. The car is fully detailed in the inside and you can see it’s inside including the flux capacitor, it even has some of Marty’s voice incorporated in the game. This would be pretty awesome when you’re being chased by a bunch of cops and then boom! Back to the future baby!

(Info on how to do it and links to the mod is on the Youtube page!)
