Rockstar is reprotedly investigating an incidence that some retailers has not followed Grand Theft Auto 5’s official street date release last weekend. Grand Theft Auto V has an official release date of September 17, 2013 but some people have claimed to have received their copies of the game earlier over the weekend.

The retailer in question is Amazon UK where the online retail giant has shipped copies of the game a few days ahead the official release date, much to the enjoyment of the consumers. The reports come from some photos that has been posted online via Twitter and Instagram showing their supposed copies of GTA 5.

Rockstar has released a statement saying that they are: “in the process of investigating early ‘sales’ to determine how and why that is occurring.”

Tech4idiots did a little snooping around and found out that copies of Grand Theft Auto 5 is already available on some popular file sharing websites and forums. Whether the copy of the game that is now available online is US or EU versions is unknown. And as far as information goes, Grand Theft Auto V runs on 4.30 CFW and above.

A little envious since the rest of us have to wait until the 17th to get our own copies of the game from our favorite game shops.
