It’s been a long time now since Apple has made the iWork suite completely free for Macs bought from 2013 and up. New Mac users are able to download the iWork suite for free from the Mac App store, but what what about users who are still using older Macs?

If you are using an older iMac, you would still need to buy each app at around $19.99 each, and if you want all three (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) that amounts to almost $60. That’s pretty expensive.

Well here’s some good news for you. Here is a simple trick on how to download iWork for free in 5 easy steps.

1. Download and install the iWork ’09 trial version here.
2. Launch Pages, Numbers and Keynote one at a time and then quit each one.
3. Go to the Mac App Store and then go to the Updates tab.
4. From there you will see that you will now be able to update the iWork ’09 apps to the latest versions.
5. After updating the App, the iWork ’09 trial version would now be deleted and you owuld now have the latest versions of Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

And there you have it! After updating the iWork suite Apps would now be also associated to your account under your purchases tab.
