Apple has just released iOS 8.2 to the public, this is just right after their big keynote has ended.

The new Apple Watch App

Just as what saw from the iOS 8.2 beta version, the official iOS 8.2 update now includes the new app for the just announced Apple Watch. The new App is required for setting up the Apple Watch, pairing with your iPhone and loading apps, and the App cannot be deleted (but you can always tuck it away in a folder where apps like Apple Maps reside).

There are 2 sections in the App, Explore and the App Store, the Explore so far contains videos from the keynote, and the App Store is where you will find Apps for the Apple Watch. We expect the Explore section of the App to be updated once the Apple Watch becomes available to the public. The Apps store within the Apple Watch App is not exactly a separate or new App store, its just directs you to the Apple Watch section of the main App store, meaning, you can also access the Apple Watch section of the App store via the regular App store on your device.

However, as 9to5mac noticed, the process for pairing the Apple Watch with your iPhone doe snot utilize NFC, which can be a great and easier way to pair it up with the iphone 6 which supports NFC. The Apple Watch App uses the iPhones camera to initiate the process by placing a yellow frame in the camera viewfinder to match the Watch’s display. Maybe Apple will add this feature in a future iOS update for iPhone 6 and 6 plus users.

Apple Watch App Store

So far, until the Apple Watch is already out, the app is still kinda useless. =)
