Apple has now unlocked iOS betas for the public, and you no longer need to have an App developer membership to have access to iOS betas.

iOS beta versions are now available for everyone

Apple has already mentioned a few weeks ago that they would release iOS betas to the public as an effort to greatly help eliminate bugs and other problems by letting more users try out the beta version before officially releasing it to the public. And now, anyone can now join Apple’s official Beta Testing Program and be able to download and test any iOS beta version that Apple releases. So if you want to be ahead of everyone else with regards to iOS updates, this the perfect program for you.

Back then, if you want to gain access to iOS beta versions, you would need to be in the developer program and it costs 99$ a year to be in the program. So no need to be paying that much per year just to have access to iOS betas. (But seriously who pays that membership fee just for the access to beta versions?)

Apple has first began this program with the OS X Yosemite for MACs by releasing the beta version to be tested by none developers, and Apple has probably seen the advantage it brought to and has now extended this program to iOS.

Please do note that beta versions of any software is usually laden with numerous bugs and other glitches, so you better know what you are getting into if you want to join this program and be one of the few to be able to test any new iOS version ahead of everyone else.

You can sign up for the beta program on Apples Website here. You will be guided with step by step instructions on how to install the latest iOS betas on your iPhone or iPads. Currently the iOS section section of the beta program is still being rolled out, so depending on where you are you might have to wait fro it to be available for your account.
