A developer named Hamza Sood has shared in a tweet that he was able to hack the Apple Watch to be able to use custom watch faces on his Apple Watch.

iOS Developer hacked the Apple Watch to support custom watch faces

People have been complaining since launch regarding the lack of support for custom watch faces on the Apple Watch, and no clear sign on whether Apple will release this feature on a future update. WatchOS 2 added some welcoe first party watch faces but still lacked support for third-party developed watch faces.

So some people were excited to see custom watch faces being sported on the Apple Watch. Hamza Sood posted his video to twitter and as you can see below, his Apple Watch is showing 2 custom watch faces running on his watch.

Sood was able to completely integrate his custom watch faces into watchOS 2.0, so they can be chosen right from the first party interface. The tweak also takes advantage of the Digital Crown, it allows him to change the color of the watch just by moving the crown, like how Apple first party watch faces does.

Hamza Sood has shared his source code on github so other people may be able to create their own custom Apple Watch faces. His Apple Watch is running watchOS 2.0 beta.
