Quick Fixes for PS Vita Firmware 3.57 issues

The recently released PS Vita 3.57 firmware update has been causing all sorts of problems to a lot of users, and until Sony releases a fix for these problems, users experiencing these issues are screwed.

But not anymore, thanks to the internet we have compiled a list of simple fixes that has worked for many other users that you can do to make your PS Vita usable again.


Fix 1

PS Vita - Turn on Flight Mode


  1. Turn on Flight mode by going to Settings and then Check the Flight Mode.
  2. Go to Settings then PlayStation Network, then sign out of PSN.
  3. Go Back to the Home screen.
  4. Turn Off Flight mode (See 1).
  5. Turn Off the Vita by holding the Power button for 5 seconds the tapping turn off when the screen comes up.
  6. Turn on your Vita and you should now be able to Login to PSN.

Fix 2

PS Vita - Turn Off


  1. Turn Off your Vita by Holding the power button then tapping turn off when the screen comes up.
  2. Remove the Memory Card (not the game Cartridge)
  3. Turn your Vita on. (The vita would update the database due to lack of Memory Card on the System)
  4. Turn you Vita Off again same with Step 1.
  5. Re-insert the Memory Card.
  6. Turn your Vita on (The database would update again since it would now detect a Memory Card)
  7. You should now be able to access the PSN store again after doing this.

Fix 3 (This came form Sony UK when a user contacted them about it)

PS Vita - Safe Mode


  1. Ensure the PS Vita system is turned off (not in standby mode). To turn it off, press and hold the Power Button for 2 seconds and then tap “Power Off”.
  2. Then, press and hold the R button, the PS button and the Power Button for 5 seconds to activate Safe Mode.
  3. When in Safe mode, select Rebuild the system.
  4. Once done, try logging on back to PSN.

(UPDATE): A user from Reddit has contacted Sony UK and they have responded saying that they are aware of the issues and are working on a fix but it wont be rolled out in the near future. WTF Sony.

    Updated my Vita to 3.57 and did not experience any issue at all, are there really a lot of users experiencing issues after updating to 3.57?

    Thanks, all I did was a hard reset then logout-login PSN and all is working back now.

    The sign-in was never the problem it was the battery life! After the update, my battery literally drains after a matter of hrs not days. I have a video of my battery draining down 3/4 within an hr just sitting idle no playtime.
    Wtf Sony get your shit together!
