PS Vita Firmware Update 3.57 Now Available

Sony has also released a new firmware update for the PS Vita with the PS Vita firmware 3.57 update.

PS Vita

It’s been a while since Sony has released an update for this beloved, but seemingly forgotten console. And it’s nice to know that Sony is still releasing new updates for the PS Vita. But apparently, this is just another useless update, just like with the recently released PS3 4.78 firmware update.

Here’s whats included in the PS Vita Firmware 3.57 update:

  • Support for Facebook features on the systems has been discontinued.

  • That’s right, the only thing this update brings is that it has now removed the PS Vita Facebook App, the App wasn’t working anymore anyway, but it was always good to have a Facebook app on the Vita so you won’t have to reach for your smartphone whenever you fell like checking up on FB.

But unlike with the PS3 4.78 update, the Vita Firmware 3.57 update is mandatory, meaning you would need to update your device to the latest firmware in order to continue accessing PSN and going online with your PS Vita. But don’t expect the Facebook App to still work, so there’s that.
