PS3 CFW Spoofers have now been blocked by Sony

Sony has finally patched access to PSN and other online services for the PS3, even though your system says it’s on firmware 4.66 on the system information while spoofed, you will still not be able to go online with it. So CFW Users on lower firmware using spoofers can no longer access PSN and would only receive 80710A06 errors on their screens.

PS3 spoofers has long been the solution for CFW users wanting to stay on a lower firmware but still gain access to PSN and other online services. This is not good news especially for Rogero users whose last official CFW version was 4.55 and gain access to PSN and play online multiplayer via spoofers. The latest version of the PS3 spoofer was the 4.66 spoofer and sadly this no longer works.

However, this does not mean that if you are on CFW you can no longer go to PSN and play online multiplayer, the solution to this is to update your CFW to the latest version that can go online. The current official firmware version is 4.66 and you would be able to access PSN and play online if you are on HABIB 4.66 CFW. No news yet on when Sony is going to release the 4.70 update which is expected to come anytime soon.
