PS3 Official Firmware 4.65 Out Now

Written by Tech84 on August 27, 2014

Sony has just rolled out a new PS3 Official firmware with 4.65, it’s a rather small update with a vague “improves stability during the use of some features” message on their twitter account. This update comes after the official ps3 firmware 4.60 they released a few weeks ago.

This time, the 4.65 firmware update is not mandatory, meaning, unlike with the 4.60 update you will still be able to access PSN and use the other online features of your PS3 even if you don’t update to this latest PS3 firmware.

This update probably came about due to the reports of PS3’s getting bricked after installing the PS3 OFW 4.60 update.

You can install this update now by going to your PS3 and then select firmware update via settings, or you can download the udpate via your PC by downloading the update from the Sony PlayStation website here.

As of writing, Rogero has yet to publicly release an update to his popular CFW. A Rogero 4.60 has been leaked, but the leaked version is still in beta phase and still does not support MultiMan. So we’ll just have to stay tuned and wait for any updates.

To quote PlayStation Twitter:

New PS3 system software 4.65 is a minor optional update that improves stability during the use of some features
