The PS4 firmware update 2.51 has already been rumored to be released by Sony in order to fix issues that came with the PS4 2.50 firmware update.

PS4 Firmware Update 2.51 surfaces, then removed by Sony

And today, Sony has made the Firmware 2.51 update available on the PS4 firmware update section on the Official PlayStation website. But the 2.51 update was only briefly available as Sony removed it after only a short time.

The update being made available to the public was also not officially announced and there was no official changelog available during the time it was available. This could just be an error on the part of Sony prematurely making the PS4 2.51 update available on their website.

Another possible scenario is that Sony only recently found out some bugs in the firmware that could lead to a possible PS4 jailbreak from the 2.51 update that’s why they quickly removed it. We bet if that was the case that would definitely stir everyone wishing for a PS4 jailbreak. Anyway, so far no one has showed up in the interwebs claiming they were able to download and install the 2.51 update on their PS4 yet so no news on what the 2.51 actually came with.

Stay tuned in case the PS4 firmware 2.51 get officially release and/or Sony releases and explanation regarding this update.
