Apple released the iOS 6.1.3 update just a few days ago designed to fix the lock screen vulnerability bug that can allow intruders to access the iPhone’s contact list and photos by bypassing the passcode lock with just a few taps. And just when we thought the iOS update was all good (and not to mention the iOS 6.1.2 update addressed an issue regarding reduced battery life), some users are reporting that iOS 6.1.3 is causing some battery issues resulting to their batteries draining faster.
Many users have been
complaining reporting about the iOS 6.1.3 battery issue over at Apple’s Support community forums. You can check the thread titled “iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage” here.
Some users have reported that performing a hard reset and cycling their battery has improved their iPhone’s battery life, while some say this fixes the problem, a lot of users are also saying that doing this fix is only temporary that the issue comes back again after a few uses. Also noting that some users say that it did not fix the problem at all.
Another thing to take into consideration is that this iOS 6.1.3 battery life issue does not affect all devices and seems to be completely random, which is weird. So should we expect an iOS 6.1.4 update anytime soon? Well most likely since there are reports that upon fixing the first lock screen bug, iOS 6.1.3 introduced a new lock screen bug.
You can watch how the new iOS 6.1.3 lock screen bug works on the video below:
